The person who reaches out to help Kei in this dark time is fellow Ajin Sato (Ayano Go, Rage), a mysterious terrorist who aims to create a safe world for Ajins by wiping out humans. Hunted by the authorities, Kei gets taken to a facility and subjected to cruel experiments. The government, however, deem Ajins to be a threat to humanity. That is when he learns that he is an Ajin. Moments after his death, his body regenerates and he is revived. Medical intern Nagai Kei (Satoh Takeru) gets into a fatal car accident, but he survives.

Satoh Takeru ( Rurouni Kenshin) takes the leading role of a young "Ajin" – an immortal demi-human with special abilities – who becomes caught in the battle between Ajins and humans in the action fantasy suspense. After inspiring an anime series and animated film trilogy, Sakurai Gamon's manga Ajin: Demi-Human gets a live-action film adaptation directed by Bayside Shakedown series creator Motohiro Katsuyuki.
